I’m a mom. I know how quickly time passes. I value the art of capturing time.
Since I was a child, I cherished every moment with my camera. Taking pictures of my family, our house, the pets, my stuffed animals... my world. I’m a sentimental type and I never want to forget a minute. I’m a documentarian.
I was asked long ago, to shoot a friend’s wedding, a luau amongst the soybeans and cornfields of northwestern Illinois. She knew I was constantly snapping pictures for myself and asked if I’d consider being her photographer. Though I had no prior experience in shooting weddings, I agreed. Apprehensive, I knew I just needed to do one thing... capture the day...and THAT I had tons of experience doing. I’m so glad I did. It was fun. It was rewarding. It was the birth of Windy City Snapshots. (see photos below)
I still do now, what I did for my friend, and for everyone since that day. I take pictures to freeze time and preserve your memories. And that’s simply it. These are YOUR memories, so they will be YOUR images. I shoot using natural light, edit and turn the images over to you...I do not make prints. You can do whatever you’d like to with them in a more affordable way. It’s just plainly more enjoyable that way.
Thank you for your interest and I hope to see you through the lens one day!
